Entering KL's Most Exclusive Speakeasy Lounge: Dcode 1A Private Lounge

I think it has been a trend for quite a while now about Speakeasy bars in Kuala Lumpur. With the mysterious hidden directions to get to a certain bar, it makes the experience more interesting.

I was recently invited to the launch of KL's most exclusive speakeasy lounge, the Dcode 1A Private Lounge. Known for hosting some of the most anticipated events and campaigns across Malaysia, the 1A Private Lounge is the latest initiative from experiential specialists DCODE. Designed with DCODE’s mantra of #CreateOwnDiscoverExperience in mind, the DCODE 1A Private Lounge is a distinctive expression of all a modern speakeasy cocktail lounge should be.

Located at The Row KL, you would have to go through a a few different flights of stairs, and go through a "Gelung Hos" door to enter the lounge! Pretty cool yeah? 

I brought Yeeing as my date today, and of course she's always a pleasure to be with. Another reason why we're close? We're born on the same birthday! Okay I think i'm going a bit sidetrack here, Back to the lounge!

Dcode 1A is a 2 storey bar, with the bar upstairs and the lounge downstairs equipped with a pool table, and a live dj spinning. The decor is pretty minimal inside, which makes it a great environment to relax and unwind after a tough day at work.

Inside the lounge there are a few vending machines where you're able to choose your poison. There is Gin, Vodka and Brandy, which are dispensed in bottles, and you're able to choose the flavours you would like to mix with at the mixing bar

The outcome? Always different! 

It was definitely a great experience as it is unlike any other speakeasy bar that I have been to. And the best part? catching up with the old friends such as Bok, Jenn, Natalie and Isaac after so long!
