The house of Hennessy has been for about 3 centuries since 1765 and as of 7th October 1817, The legendary Hennessy VSOP started its reign! It first started when the future King George IV of England asked the great French cognac House to supply him with a special cognac describe in the records with the words "Very Superior Old Pale (VSOP)

If you're a Hennessy Fanatic, You would notice that the cognac's personality is unchanged for nearly 2 centuries! It goes through a series of processes and secrets of selection, ageing and blending to ensure that the consistency similar to the Hennessy VSOP produced in 1817.

The current bottle that you see this days is the design of modernisation in 1989. And as of 2012, The design is yet to change again! Designer Chris Bangle (Ex Chief BMW Designer) has taken the challenge to design & create the new Hennessy Bottle while keeping its originality.

On the 19th May 2012, Hennessy is proud to have its launching of the new Hennessy VSOP at The Double Tree Hilton. The launching showed the invited guest on how the bottle was designed, and of course the appearance of the designer Chris Bangle himself!

Hennessy has created 2 themed rooms for the night, which was the white room to show the invited guest on what the new bottle is about, and a black room, where the after party was going to be held!

Starting up on the pictures in the white room:

Chris Bangle stated that even a 1mm difference, can change the whole concept of the bottle.
In the new Hennessy VSOP bottle, Chris Bangle has:

- accentuated the curves on the sides of the bottle, reinforcing its silhouette's dynamics
- lengthened the neck and straightened the bottles shoulders
- created an enriched base resembling a pedestral to distinguish the whole with opulence while maintaining
  its stability
- the front of the bottle evokes a pyramid perspective, to draw the eyes to the top of the bottle, where the
legendary arm and axe of the Hennessy Family was engraved
- The Hennessy Vsop oval label is in dark grey ennobled with gold embossing

Other than that, an anti counterfeiting technique was applied to the Hennessy VSOP bottle where a laser stamp was applied and a hologram of inimitable complexity seal the cap, ensuring product integrity.

and here it is, the new design of Hennessy Vsop:
