As it was part of the program, We had the chance to visit Carcassonnes which is a historical castle & fort. It is dated back to the 5th century and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. As you can bet, the architecture is phenomenon! and well it is a really beautiful place in terms of art & history.

History says, Madame Carcas trolled the enemies (led by Charlemagne) who were attacking the fort by feeding a pig with lots of wheat in full view of the invading army to make it seem that life is still prosperous in the city even though there is a war going on which led to Charlemagne retreating from the siege.

So well, She was known as the genius who saved the fort & basically it was named after her. So lets head to the pictures of the fort!

We headed over for lunch at a local restaurant, which served good food priced from 10 Euros - 30 Euros. amongst the food is local French dishes, and also of course, the goodness of Foie Gras

Didn't get the name of the restaurant, but in front of it theres a sign which says "Restaurant, Brasserie, Creperie, Snack"

Last but not least, We visited the Castle within the fort. Which was free for students below the age 25 to enter. You'll just wonder how do they build this magnificent buildings in the past where even with technology now, its fairly impossible to recreate this structures
